Finally, wandered into the Great Burger the other day. I went to the batting cages at Gaien with Matt and Chris. Matt had not had lunch yet, and as soon as he asked where to go, I answered with,"the Great Burger." Ever since, I had heard of their lamb burger, the place was on my to do list. With an added bonus of the walk from Gaien to Cat Street being a wonderful one, I was both hungry and in a jolly mood when we got to the Great Burger. The Avocado, Mozzarella cheese, Lamb Burger was fantastic. The meat was juicy, and definitely tasted of lamb, but was not overbearing in anyway. The buns were perfect (same as Burger Mania?). Another additional bonus, one of the chefs had a Burger Mania T-shirt. Full set here.
やっと念願のthe Great Burgerに行った。先日 マットとクリスと神宮外苑のバッティングセンターに行った。110キロでも130キロでもあまり前に飛ばなかったけど、充実感を味わえた。マットがまだ昼食べてなかったので、彼から問いかけがあったら""the Great Burger"と即答。ラムバーガーの存在を聞いていた瞬間から行きたかった場所へ遂に！外苑からキャットストリートへの散歩も気持ちよくお店に着いたときにはお腹も空いていて気分もハイ。注文したアボカド・モッツァレラ・ラムバーガーも最高。完全に羊だけど、臭くなく、美味しい。店員の人がバーガーマニアのT-シャツ着ていた。写真はここ。

Went out to Burger Mania last night, this time with the Kanai family and CGM. There burgers were great and I also come sometimes just to get some veggies.
CGM and Gen aren't to crazy about burgers of the Homeworks variety, stating that they must use frozen patties, but they both said that the Burger Mania burgers were great.
The desserts here are pretty great to, after dinner I was trying to explain a Cheesesteak sandwich to the owner. One of my dreams were realized when a burger joint opened thirty seconds from my house, I might be pushing my luck by trying to realize another dream.
I also like their doggie bags. The one disappointment is that they don't have a separate space for non-smokers. The stench of cigarettes does ruin the great burgers.
昨晩、またBurger Maniaで晩ご飯、今回はカナイ夫妻と元上司のCGMさんと一緒に。一緒に行った他店のバーガーに関しては「肉が美味しくない」と言い切っていたCGM（Genもそう思っていたらしい）だったが、Burger Maniaのバーガーは美味しい!!!と行っていた（余談ですが「おしぼり下さい」を「おひさしぶり下さい」と言うような方なのです）
僕はバーガーを毎日食べていては身長は伸びずに体重は増えてしまうので、野菜だけを食べて帰ることが多い。今回もアボカドベーコンチーズバーガーを我慢してアボカドチーズバーガーを頼んだ（同じような物だけど）。
家から歩いて30秒の所にバーガー屋さんが出来たのは夢のような事であるけど、帰り際にチーズステーキサンドウィッチについてオーナーの方と話してみる。
唯一残念なのが禁煙では無いこと、せっかくの食べ物がタバコの匂いでまずく感じるときもある。

From the about darn time section of the news, it seems that the major cab companies in Tokyo have agreed
to ban smoking in their cabs from next January.
The Tokyo Taxi Association that accounts for 90% (about 34,000 cabs, though the article in JP stated 60%) of the taxis in Tokyo have decided to go ahead with a ban, following the lead of Nagoya and Kanagawa. Oita and Nagano also already have smoke-free taxis and Chiba will be following up later this year.
Perhaps some smokers will take this as a tough blow, but if you really want to smoke in cabs go ahead and check out China. Plenty of the cabs in Shanghai still smell like ass (even though they've got non-smoking stickers plastered on them).
これでタクシーの中で気持ち悪くならないですむ。しかし、タクシー乗って窓を開けるのも習慣になって嫌いではないんだけどね。
